Dr. Jill Manny is a distinguished scholar and educator in nonprofit law, philanthropy, and tax-exempt organizations. As Executive Director of the National Center on Philanthropy and the Law at New York University School of Law, she leads research and policy discussions on the legal and regulatory frameworks that shape charitable organizations and philanthropic institutions. She has also served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at NYU since 1995, where she teaches courses on nonprofit organizations, charitable giving, and tax-exempt entities.

Her work focuses on nonprofit governance, tax policy, and the accountability of tax-exempt institutions, with an emphasis on how legal and financial structures influence public obligations and social impact. Through her scholarship and policy leadership, Dr. Manny has contributed significantly to national conversations on the regulation and responsibilities of nonprofit institutions, bringing critical legal insight to discussions on hospital tax exemption, community accountability, and public benefit.
