Dr. Eva Marie Stahl is a health policy leader and researcher focused on healthcare affordability, medical debt, and health equity. As Vice President of Policy, Engagement, and Research at Undue Medical Debt, she leads the organization’s policy strategy, beneficiary engagement, and research initiatives aimed at addressing the growing medical debt crisis in the United States. Her work centers on elevating the experiences of patients burdened by medical debt and translating those insights into policy solutions that improve affordability and reduce financial harm.

Before joining Undue Medical Debt, Dr. Stahl spent more than a decade in health advocacy, working with national coalitions and community-based partners to advance healthcare affordability and equity-centered policy reform. Her expertise spans insurance access, consumer protections, and the broader social and economic factors that shape health outcomes. Her work brings critical perspective to conversations on hospital billing, medical debt prevention, and patient financial protection.
